As we journey through Social Studies in semester one, our sixth through eighth grade students will learn about early civilizations and recognize events that contributed to different civilizations throughout time. and end with assessing the effects of Communist governments and what life looks like for their civilians. Students in our third to fifth grade class will engage in lessons that have them creating and thinking. Students will create timelines, maps, and journal like some of first explorers to document their trials and triumphs. As they travel though the 18th and 19th century student study important documents and how the shape the world we live in today. Our younger students in Kindergarten through second grade will engage in lessons about patriotism to our country, different national symbols and what they stand for. They will develop an understanding for similarities and differences between our past and present, and different native American tribes. along with discovering important figures throughout history!
We believe that all students should be able to experience and express themselves through different types of arts. All students will learn about several different artist, techniques and mediums all while applying these to their own works or art. Students will be able to experience painting, embroidery and much more.
This hands on experience will give students a chance to strengthen their farming skills and get their hands dirty. They will learn to what it takes for our food to become ready to use in the kitchen. This enrichment includes learning about growing and harvesting crops, planning and opportunities for hands on cooking. Students will also learn about table etiquette along with hand sewing.
This year we will be working with students to practice different skills throughout several different sports. Students will partake in learning safe stretches to keep their body safe. all grades will get the chance to use new equipment to learn hands on skills like how to properly dribble and shoot basketballs to knowing the rules of the games! these activities provide a competitive nature with lots of team work!
